Frequently Asked Questions
What does a wedding videographer do?
A wedding videographer captures the real, unscripeted moments of your day. The laughter, the happy tears, the way you look at each other, and turns them into a cinematic film that you’ll treasure forever. I’m there to document it all, from the quiet anticipation before the ceremony to the wild dancefloor moments at night, without interrupting the natural flow of the day.
What does a wedding content creator do?
A wedding content creator captures your day in a fast, raw, behind-the-scenes style using a smartphone - think of it like your own personal social media assistant. My focus is on short-form content, ideal for TikTok, instagram reels, or stories. I’ll catch everything from the dress reveal and first look to spontaneous dance floor clips, ready to edit and deliver within hours or days (not weeks).
I’m not creating a cinematic wedding film - I’m building your wedding day story for social media in real time, giving you instant memories whilst my professional edits are still cooking.
How does a wedding videographer and wedding content creator overlap?
The way I capture a wedding day doesn’t change, whether it’s for social media reels or a full documentary film. Each of my wedding videography packages include instant delivery of key moments of your day. There’s no shaky smartphone footage here, just high quality shots that will make your friends and family wonder how your videographer was able to deliver great content so quickly. It’s my aim to give you the best of both worlds - instantly shareable content and perfectly crafted edits.
Normally for my content creator packages you can hire me for just a few hours of your day.
How much does a wedding videographer cost in Northern Ireland?
Wedding videography prices can vary depending on coverage, location, and editing time, but in Northern Ireland you can generally expect to pay between £1,500 and £3,000. Destination weddings, like those in the Canary Islands or mainland Europe, may involve travel and accommodation, which I’m always happy to chat through transparently.
Is a wedding videographer worth it?
In a word - absolutely. Whilst photos freeze a moment, film brings it to life. You’ll head your vows again. You’ll see your parents’ reactions. You’l relive your day exactly as it happened - and spot little moments you missed. A wedding film becomes something your future selves (and maybe future generations) will be so glad you have.
What’s included in your wedding videography packages?
Every couple and every wedding is different, so I offer a few tailored packages. All of them include full-day coverage, a highlight film, and beautifully edited footage that reflects your personalities. From there, you can add things like social media teaser, and more. Let’s chat and build something that suits your day perfectly.
How long will our wedding video be?
The final video length depends on your chosen package. A highlight film usually lasts around 3 to 5 minutes - perfect for reliving the whole day in a cinematic way. You can also receive separate edits of your ceremony and speeches, a full documentary edit (over 60 minutes long) and extended highlight films up to 15 minutes long.
When will we receive our wedding video?
I know you’re excited to see it! My content social package gives a same-day delivery on reels and shareable content, with all of your raw footage available for you to download the following day after your wedding. For my larger videography packages I usually deliver within 8 weeks of your wedding, but in peak season this can be extended slightly. I always keep my couples up to date with how my edits are going.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes absolutely. Even if it’s just a hop across the Irish sea to mainland UK I’m happy to travel. I love sun-drenched destination weddings in vineyards, seaside villas and city rooftops - and I’d love to capture yours.
Can we choose the music for our wedding film?
Yes - but there are some limitations due to licensing. I use fully licensed music that fits the tone and emotion of your day, and you’re more than welcome to share the vibe you’re after (chilled, romantic, upbeat etc). That way, the music enhances your story and keeps everything legally above board.
Will you work well with our photographer?
Definitely. I’m always respectful and collaborative when working alongside photographers (and other content creators) - we’re a team. I’ve worked with many photographers across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Europe and have my favourites, but I make a point of working well with everyone at your wedding. We make sure we get the shots we need without stepping on each others’ toes.
Do you offer drone footage?
Weather and legally permitting, yes. I often film Belfast city weddings where I’m not permitted to fly my drone, but normally it’s not a problem. I can’t physically fly the drone in high winds or rain. Drones are perfect for capturing the sweeping views of your venue or the landscape around you, especially if you’re getting married somewhere scenic like Tenerife, Donegal, or the Causeway Coast.
What’s the difference between a teaser, a highlight film, and a full-length (documentary or feature) video?
A teaser is a short 60-90s trailer of your wedding - think of like a social media reel and it’s perfect for sharing online.
A highlight film is a 3 to 5 minute cinematic story of your full day - from preparations to party.
A full length (feature/documentary) video includes longer cuts of your ceremony, speeches, and first dance - perfect for sitting down with a glass of wine and reliving everything in detail.
Can we request specific moments to be filmed?
Absolutely. If there’s a moment that means a lot to you - maybe a private vow reading, a speech, or a family tradition - just let me know before the big day. I always do my best to blend in and capture everything naturally, but happy to tailor things to what matters most to you.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We make it work! Some of the most atmospheric footage comes from rainy weddings - moody skies, cozy indoors, and romantic umbrella shots. I’ll adapt and find creative ways to film in any weather. I also work closely with your photographer and venue to adjust plans if needed.
Do you record audio of our vows and speeches?
Always. The least I will do (even on my content creator social package) is have the groom with a lavalier personal microphone on him for ceremony and speeches, and a microphone on my cameras. I like to also put a microphone onto the officiant too. Clear and professional audio is a huge part of cinematic storytelling. My microphones are discreet, and where possible I’ll plug directly into the venues audio system for the best feed possible. I’ll record vows, speeches, and key moments so your film feels authentic and emotionally rich. If you’re writing personal vows or having live music, we’ll make sure it sounds as good as it looks.
Do you have any awards for wedding videography?
Yes, quite a few! I’ve been nominated as a finalist for the last 4 years for Best wedding videographer at the Northern Ireland Wedding awards, winning 3 times and being runner up in 2023. I’ve won the Lux Life best wedding videographer in Ireland award 2 years in a row, best social media edit from Design Rush (I’m now one of their affiliated judges for awards) and best wedding vendor in Northern Ireland at the Best of NI awards. Right now I’m focusing on some of the more prestigious videography awards but the competition is incredibly stiff and I want to make sure that my work reflects my couples and I’m filming and editing for them, not for my portfolio.
How do we book and what’s the deposit?
Just get in touch through my contact page and let me know your date and location. If I’m available, we’ll set up a quick chat to get to know each other. To secure your booking it’s just a 25% deposit. From there, your date is locked in!
