Galgorm Resort and Spa - the perfect wedding venue in Northern Ireland for videography?

The Galgorm Resort and Spa is considered one of the best wedding venues in Northern Ireland.

It’s one of my favourite venues to work as a wedding videographer.

In this post I’ll discuss how the venue lends itself so well to both wedding videography and photography.

In its own words, it is ‘Northern Ireland’s Premier Luxury Hotel’, situated in 380 acres of countryside close to the River Main.

I’m fortunate enough to have experienced the hotel and spa from both sides of the camera, as a videographer, attending a wedding and simply staying over to enjoy the spa with my amazing wife (you’ll need to leave the kids at home for this one!). Take a look at one of my amazing wedding couples who chose the Galgorm as their venue for wedding video

The Spa is the jewel in its crown, sprawling thermal village of hot tubs, saunas, Jacuzzis and relaxation rooms. There’s even a cold plunge – which is one of my favourite features.

They’ve designed the spa around the hotel. Wedding couples should definitely stay the night of their big day and enjoy all the offerings available and really treat themselves.

In the past it has been crowned the number one venue to get married in Northern Ireland, only to be currently surpassed by The Rabbit Hotel and Retreat (I’ve written about the Rabbit Hotel wedding venue here)– which are both owned by the same company.

I’ve seen newly engaged couples priorities this wedding venue – and really set their heart on it.

Weddings, just like the people getting married, are totally unique. Whilst some couples prefer a wedding in the heart of Belfast, and others prefer a destination wedding, the Galgorm is the perfect venue for accessibility across Northern Ireland for those who want the countryside wedding without the Manor House offering such as with Beech Hill House.

The Galgorm offers the following packages (with set numbers of guests):

• Galgorm Ever After The Great Hall/ Renaissance Suite (70-100)

• Galgorm With Love at the Four Seasons Suite, (40-80)

• Whirlwind wedding (40)

The Galgorm is a series of venues within venues, giving you the choice to shape your day however you choose.

The Phantom House – Wedding ceremony venue – catering for 120 people.

The Ghost House – Wedding ceremony venue – catering for 120 people.

The Chandelier garden – Wedding ceremony venue. An outdoor setting, with a large capacity.

The Four Seasons Suite – Wedding reception venue – catering for 100 people.

The Renaissance Suite – Wedding reception venue – catering for 80-184 people.

The Great Hall – Wedding reception venue – catering for up to 300 people.

Their Wedding managers Sean and Karen really know what they are doing, and make sure that your day runs smoothly.

Wedding videography

Adam and Nicola chose the Galgorm Hotel as their Wedding Venue

I’m always looking for fresh angles and new opportunities to capture my Brides and grooms at the Galgorm. The expansive grounds and the varied sceneries give me just the opportunity.

Its riverside walkways make for a fantastic backdrop

Waterways and waterfalls pop up through the grounds.

Each of the individual venues are finished to perfection, and the food is always fantastic.

The luxury rooms can be the backdrop of the start of your wedding video if you stay over the night before.

The Phantom House ceremony room is earthy and warm, giving it that rustic feel.

Outdoor ceremonies on a lovely day are still my favourite- allowing me to move around with freedom to capture a number of angles for your wedding video as the sunlight splits the trees.

The natural light coming into the Four Seasons Suite gives me a great focal point and lovely colours to bring out in my camera.

The art deco of the Renaissance Suite has an air of glamour and style that isn’t to be ignored.

Floral tones are peppered neatly throughout each ceremony room, giving each separate venue its own elegance.

The chandelier garden is a must for your wedding film – a number of softly lit hanging chandeliers make for an incredibly romantic backdrop as the perfect ending to your video.

One last thing

One of the most expensive, and best part of the day for you and your guests is the dinner.

Of all the venues I’ve filmed at, the Galgorm is one of my favourites for the food alone. Its always high-end and mouth-watering. Don’t forget to save a meal for your wedding photographer and videographer!

Summary

Galgorm Resort and Spa Hotel has everything for the perfect wedding and the perfect videography. I’ve never filmed a couple at this venue who had anything bad to say – it constantly gets great reviews!
